The Village at Palisades-Tahoe

Palisades Tahoe, the renowned site of the 1960 Winter Olympics, offers a wide range of activities and attraction for visitors. The Palisades Village is a vibrant hub featuring numerous restaurants, bars, shops and a variety of summer weekend festivals.

SUMMER ACTIVITIES

High Camp offers roller skating, hiking, dining, and the 1960 Winter Olympic Museum.

Palisades Tahoe offers children's camps, known as Palisades Kids, for ages 5-13.

Squaw Valley Park includes pickleball courts, slides, climbing structures, swings, and a soccer field. It is located 1 mile along the bike path at the entrance of the valley. Equipment is available at our on-site Recreational Center.

WINTER ACTIVITIES

Palisades-Tahoe 2024-25 Winter Season | The mountain is scheduled to open November 27,2024. Stop by our Palisades ticket office then for discounted day-lift tickets. Be sure to purchase before 11:59pm the day prior to arrival. Skip the lines with our Resort Chair and enjoy a fantastic day on the mountain!

TAHOE CITY

  • Distance: 6 miles from Olympic Valley, a beautiful bike ride along the Truckee River.
  • Activities: River Rafting (www.truckeeriverrafting.com), Mountain Bike Rentals (tahoexc.org), Water Sports at Commons Beach (TahoeCityKayak.com).

INCLINE VILLAGE, NV

  • Activities: Tahoe East Shore Trail, a paved path with stunning views, and mountain biking at Tunnel Creek.
  • Dining: Lone Eagle Grille, Sage Leaf and various eateries with bike rentals available at Tunnel Creek.

LAKE TAHOE WEST SHORE

  • Dining: Sunnyside Restaurant, Firesign for brunch, Obexer's Market for deli and picnic options on the water.
  • Arts & Culture: The Tahoe Maritime Museum at Homewood
  • Hiking: Eagle Rock (0.7-mile roundtrip, uphill) and Emerald Bay (Eagle Falls, Rubicon Trail, and Vikingsholm Tours).

 

    Truckee, California

    Truckee is a charming California mountain town rich in western history and culture, brimming with outdoor adventures. Only a 20-minute drive from Lake Tahoe’s emerald waters, Truckee offers a perfect blend of nature and heritage. Commercial Row in old town Truckee, located by the Truckee Train Depot, features three blocks of shopping, dining, beer, wine, and chocolate tasting, coffee shops, and a glimpse into the local train history of the town.

    RIDE THE TRAIN TO TRUCKEE

    • Soak up the views of the Sierra Nevada mountains by taking the Amtrak's Zephyr line from Emeryville (San Francisco) to Truckee, California. The line stops through Martinez CA, Davis CA, Sacramento CA, Roseville CA, and Colfax CA before getting into the historical town of Truckee.
